the deep agent runs on your own computer. open a terminal (macOS or Linux; Windows via WSL) and run this:

it installs the harness and walks you through signing in. the harness runs on Claude Code — the terminal version (the claude command), not the Claude chat app; it's the only supported harness today. if Claude Code or Bun aren't installed, the installer gets them for you.

changed your mind? this removes everything Stray put on your computer. it prints what it will delete before deleting anything, and it never deletes a file you wrote — your CLAUDE.md gets moved aside, not destroyed. your account is untouched either way:

once the installer is done, you start the agent yourself. nothing wraps it. tick what you want and copy the exact line you'll be running.

harness

--strict-mcp-config off by default the extra flag mentioned in the required flags above: load only Stray's MCP server, and none of your personal ones.

tmux off by default closing the terminal kills the agent, and Stray falls back to fast answers until you start it again. under tmux it survives — detach with Ctrl-b d, come back with .
